MY STORY
I used to dream of making art all day.
I can remember filling notebooks with ideas and daydreaming about what my life could look like, the person I wanted to be, and all the things I wanted to create.
But I felt exhausted.
I had no idea where to start and I was riddled with doubts about whether I should even try! Getting paid for creating art seemed like a complete pipe dream and felt a million miles away from my reality of commutes and overdue bills.
It didn’t matter how many times I’d tell myself to work on my art on the weekends or that I’d start on that project in the evening, it just never really happened.
I felt like I was going in a loop for years: I knew exactly what I wanted but I couldn’t quite figure out how to make it happen.
Now, I don’t have a dramatic life changing moment to share with you where I achieved enlightenment and complete clarity. Nope. Instead what happened was I got bored of feeling frustrated. I got bored of my excuses and so fucking bored of not living the life that I could almost taste because I’d visualised it enough!
It’s been about 3 years since I got bored of my bullshit and decided to commit myself to my creativity - for real.
Here’s a few things that have happened since then:
I quit my job and went full-time as an artist, creating whatever I want, whenever I want
While running my business online, I’ve travelled around the world and met people who changed how I see everything
Moved into my dream home with a studio space and packing room for my products
Created in more ways than I’d imagined I ever could (paintings, decks, book design, commissions, prints, merch, courses, podcasting, and more)
Guided 100s of people to create art and make money from their creativity
Had monthly income that passed my previous corporate annual income
Mostly, I’ve evolved so much as a human and an artist - to truly become the Creatrix I’d spent years dreaming about
Here’s the thing: I am not special.
I don’t have any unique skills - I’ve just remained dedicated to my creative practice.
